Have a hobart stickmate and a older miller m130,i am going to upgrade the miller ,my choices areMiller 180 - w/autosetor the hobart handler 210, the 210 is only a few bucks more?i am a hobbyist, i build tools, fourwheeler accessories, i own a bobcat and mini excavator that i build accessories for, should i even get rid of the little 110 jobby?tell me what you guys think i am going to pull the trigger here shortly, attached pic - weld with 130 flux core, not the greatest welds - but i have only been welding since the fallthese are chain spikes for dragging large tree stumps with the excavator - just pound em in and drag, why welds are gettin better i think, but a machine with a little more a$$ couldnt hurt..this is the typical stuff i play around with as well as tables, firewood racks etc...let me know what you guys thinkRyan Attached Images
Reply:Welcome to the board.. I'd get the HH210 over the MM180 autoset. I'd rather have more output and spool gun ready.Millermatic Passport PlusMillermatic 200Millermatic 350P with PythonXMT 304 /w S-64 feeder and 12RCDynasty 300 DXVictor O/APremier Power Welder for my trail junk.
Reply:Well in the hotrod world there is no substitute for more cubic inches and in the welding world there is no substitute for more amps. An extra 30 amps can make a huge difference in the smaller machines. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:No question go with the HH210. I personally would chose it not to have to deal with the autoset, but that's me.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man...... |
