I wasnt sure the best place to post this, but I have a question regarding stainless steel surface finish. I am fabricating curved 14ga box-constructed forms (single plane flat and curved). Does anyone have any information or know where I can get information about the best way to bring a welded stainless steel surface to a mirror finish, and which abrasives I should look for?
Reply:Not sure about the welded part...but try Caswell Inc. at www.caswellplating.com. They have more polishes and abrasives than you can shake a stick at and even SS KITS that contain everythign you need and will do the job nicely. I haven't done anything with welded parts, or stainless, but if you look at my avatar, I used Caswell products to bring that axe up to a mirror finish.Contact me for any metal polishing needs you may have, my avatar is a pic of a standard, painted fire axe that I ground, sanded polished and buffed to a mirror finish.
Reply:Hey thank you a Lot for the reference. I found all of the info and "where to go" that I was needing on that Casewell website. appreciated! |
