7018 Horizontal, 200AMP, DCEP (with an ancient Airco BusyBee that I salvaged)Been welding and teaching myself since November I'm considering getting AWS certs. when I graduate from High School in JuneAny suggestions...On the starting end of the cap, I think that I used a little too much weave/too fast?Do you really know all of the work that goes into getting that fish onto your plate?
Reply:in stead of overlapping each pass right on top of eachother you need to offset them. basically the edges of each weld. also you not gonna do a weave on any position other than 3g but even then rarely you will see that. but for you weave instead of keeping a steady weave speed stay in the sides longer and go faster across the middle. but other that they have a good consistency. soo keep it up just fix those few things.
Reply:and from what i can see your root looks pretty darn good. little to no undercut.
Reply:That looks pretty good. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Looks good, what size rod? The whole groove has to be filled when you are done, so it needs a couple more passes.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Atom Arc 7018 5/32Do you really know all of the work that goes into getting that fish onto your plate?
Reply:Not bad at all. As mentioned above try staggering your passes instead of trying to cover the previous pass, and add a few more passes to complete. Looking good so far. Also try some lincoln, Murex, or hobart brothers rods. The atom arc's give me fits everytime I try to run them and I burn 7018 everyday.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:sorry, spending more time on your avatar than your beads..... |
