I finally found a Dynasty on CL. It still has 2 yrs left on the factory warranty. Comes with 2 full size tanks, te entire miller tig runner package including the coolmate, the torch, regulator, pedal. The seller is asking $3500. It seems like a decent price to me, but I've noticed that the D200's have been dropping in price a bit recently in eBay. A 5 yr old one in mint condition with 15 hrs or arc time went for 2200 for the machine alone. I used to see these go for $2800 and it boggled my mind, a new one wasn't much more. So what do you think would e a fair price for the above unt, with the tanks and without. If the tanks are rented, I'm not buying them. ThanksPs. I guess the other question is whether you would trade up to this. I'm sticktly hobby and never will be PRO. I have a perfectly good TA185 that works great, but I just have a craving for a Dynasty. It's probably not "trading up" either, the machines are comparable in alot of ways.Last edited by Drf255; 01-24-2012 at 06:57 AM.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:Anyone that thinks going from a TA185 to a Dynasty 200 DX is not "trading up" has probably never used a Dynasty. Two years on warranty means the machine is likely about a year old. High probability that it includes the Blue Lightniing arc starts and upgraded features.Comparing this setup to a 5 year old Dynasty (No Blue Lightning, no warranty, etc) is like comparing apples to oranges. In my book, this is a much better deal.Don't know where you're seeing "price drops" on the Dynasty 200's but from what I'm seeing, the used machines (in good shape/low hours) are bringing 80-90% of new street price.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:Thanks for the advice. I bought it for $3300 without the tanks. The owner became I'll and had to sell his equipment. He bought it a year ago and was meticulous with it. It looks brand new and it came with a 60' extension cord and a modular setup to change to different voltage inputs. He also threw in all his tungstens and consumables. I figured this wasn't a bad deal for an almost new machine with the full Tigrunner package. After seeing a few horror stories on the Miller website about eBay machines, I'm glad I got it used from someone reputable.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:So I picked up the tanks. Both are 80's with 2011 date stamps. The arc meter reads 2253 and 7026. So I guess 23 hrs or arc time. Does that sound like extreme or light use on the machine?TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
