Need help on PONY cart

I am still working on my fab skills. I am building a pony/ llama cart and want your opinions on what tubing should be used.  I am torn between 1x1x 1/8 or 1x1x.083  The .083 weighs in at 1.04 #'s/ft and the 1/8th is 1.44 #'s per foot.  Will the thinner stuff hold up to 250 pounds if spanned 2 feet max?Miller 185Lincoln Weldanpower 225Lincoln 225 buzz boxCheap-o C&H 110v (my first welder)

Reply:A fairly nice material for those kinds of things is 1"x2"x about .070" wall tubing. Depending on the orientation it can add some rigidity vs 1" box and trying to overwhlem it with thickness. Just a thought.
Reply:One other thing you might think about is that taller tube will bend less than square. 1 1/2" x1" .083 (14g) is 1.32lbs/ft. 2"x1" .083 is 1.6 lbs/ft.2 1/2" x 1" .083 is 1.88 lbs/ft3" x 1" .083 is 2.16 lbs/ft.Determine the members that need the most strength and then up size those (using the tall side up) while keeping others lighter..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
