Anybody used this machine? Just ordered one, need it to remove the tint on the stainless products I build. From the videos I've seen, looks like it works well. Comments/feedback welcome!
Reply:Looks a lot cheaper (cost) than the Walter one. I'm pretty sure the Walter one is about $1500+. Let us know how it worked (product review with pictures).Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX
Reply:Their website has a demo coming soon. It looks like something I used in the 1960's. Basically a pen connected up to DC source. We used it to electrodeposit metal on damaged areas of propellers. The solution is hydroflouric acid from reading the Dynaflux literature. What the system should do is passivate the required areas on the stainless with the electrically charged felt. There would be a lot less of a mess compared to using passivating pastes and massive amounts of water afterwards. it looks like an ideal way to trat smaller parts. People don't like the tint for cosmetic reasons. More importantly: It really is an area that has less corrosion resistance and should be attended to in all cases or there is no reason to bother using stainless.
Reply:I'll update this thread this week, with some pictures and maybe a video. Should come towards the end of the week. |
