Can it work for different metals ?  Copper to aluminum, Iron to steel, steel to copper, aluminum to Steel, etc ?What are the pluses and minuses other than it is slow and hard to learn ?  What specialized equipment do I need other than two bottles, regulators, goggles, gauntlets, and a cutting torch ?I realize it isn't very common nowadays...But why ?
Reply:The only method I know of for sticking anything besides aluminum to aluminum is solder. I have used it, it works, I don't trust it for holding any load. Steel and cast iron can both be brazed and brazed to each other. Copper can be soldered to steel and probably cast iron. I'm not sure on brazing it as the copper may melt before the brass, but that can be looked up. If the copper has a higher melt point than the brass then it can be brazed. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:It isn't used as much anymore because we have much better and faster methods of joining dissimilar metals. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
