Anybody on here have anything to share about the Black Stone brand welders? How they compare to Hobart, Lincoln, etc. I was going to buy the Hobart 140 soon but Fastenal sells a 115v 135amp thats on a sale $499.99 by Black Stone.
Reply:blackstone is a name fastenal markets things under, most they dont make themselves..sounds like the same price as a lincoln or thereabouts, why mess with it?

Reply:There is no reason not to buy proven products and let the chumps be the "early adopters" who "test" cheap gear with their own money.I carry this all the way from vehicles to tools. Don't be the first customer. Let the good stuff prove itself and let the junk grenade on someone else.You simply cannot lose by doing it this way. Tools especially have MANY users, so I listen to users and benefit from their experience while sharing mine.

Reply:Talked to the Fastenal Sales Rep at Auto tech school and he said I am better with a real brand name like Lincoln, Hobart, Miller, etc. Black Stone just there generic house brand. So still getting a Hobart 140 for body work. |
