This project started with a lot of fabrication work.  Tig and Mig welding steel and stainless steel, lathe and milling machining, plasma cutting, vertical and horizontal band saw cutting , sanding, grinding, drill press, priming, painting and some airbrush work. It was a fun build. Time consuming but well worth it. Special thanks to EVOLL for some good ideas, Dave Almedia, Ken Wydolyo, and Bravlio for some machining help! Attached Images

Reply:Nice build.Gotta get around to building one myself. Was the main pole C made for that or was it borrowed from another application.Looks as though it was some type of safety rail when it was yellow.
Reply:it was a machine guard.
Reply:I've seen them used as bollards in parking garages, too. I used to do some repair work for a local mall, they had some laying around.hmm.Nice job!Brian LeonardAppalachian Ironworks L.L.C.434 Long Branch Rd, Marshall, NC 28753828 649 9966828 702 [email protected]
Reply:Thats great!
Reply:Excellent job. The skull painting is a good job if that is your thing. Personally I can do without them but HEY, whatever flips your switch.
Reply:Like that creative re-use of materials. You have also simplified the "quick release" feature for the lower wheel........thank-you.  What do you have in place to prevent the lower wheel from turning around (horizontally) ??
Reply:Nice looking Ewheel. How is the run out. I am building one myself. I started it awhile back but just finished getting the last few parts and hope to get back at it very soon. I spent a good deal of time on research and looked at many types. I was going to use pipe like that myself but was discouraged from do so. I ended up using some 4x4x1/4 tubing.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.

Reply:I bought the harbor freight planishing hammer and think it isn't to bad for the money. I was looking for something cheap to play with before diving into any bigger money. For now it does the trick and maybe after I get going I will look into a better one. After I get my ewheel going I want to pick up a stretcher / shrinker.I am planning on getting into custom bike tanks and tins to start, plus car mods and stuff. I don't have a pic on my ewheel frame on this computer but will post one up later for you. I have some hoosier pattern wheel and anvils. Here is a link to their site. Awesome tools. Also be sure to get onto metalmeet.com. great source for sheet metal info.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
