Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, I see some good advice and I was hoping to get some for myself. I have about 4 years of experience in collision repair and then 3 years of food processing welding experience. I'm currently in school and working towards some pipe certs and I need help with a career path. I'm interested in owning my own welding truck but don't really know a good way to get there. Do I try to find someone who needs a helper and learn from them? If so, how would I find said person? How much would a position like that pay? These are just a few of the questions I have, If anyone can give me some advice and wouldn't mind me asking a few more questions I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!
Reply:The market varies according to where you are. Make a point of asking upgraders who come through the school. Most schools have short term students who come in for a few days to test out. They often are private contractors and could give you good advice over a cup of coffee. |
