Well neither of these projects have been started yet.I just picked up the press brake dies yesterday.  4 position die 24" v-openings are 3/4", 1", 1.5" and 2".  Perfect for anything up to 1/4" 2 feet long although I can get away thicker narrower pieces if necessary.  Looking into buying a 45 ton air over hydraulic press with manual capability.Welding cart is for my new dynasty 200.  It is an all aluminum dolly.  I will be getting an aluminum cylinder and also machined aluminum go kart wheels with 10" slicks.  As it sits now I can lift it a little bit with one hand.  So it should be pretty mobile once I get a smaller bottle.  The machine will sit right above the dolly wheels and I'm going to make the frame out of aluminum.I would appreciate any ideas or input before I start cutting everything up.  Also post pics here of your press brake setups.
Reply:Have you seen the Miller Dolley for the dynasty?  http://www.millerwelds.com/products/...ty_200_series/Thats what I would copy......I made a much larger cart for my thermal arc/coolmate 4 combo and when I saw the miller I almost cut mine up on the spot.

Reply:Here are some more updates.  I have decided to cut the top die into sections incase I need to do any box/pan style bending.  I am going to change the top die holder to clamp the pieces instead of using setscrews.  I cut this on my princess auto(harbor freight) 4x6 bandsaw.  Each cut took 40minutes but they were bang on 90 degrees, not bad for the little saw.  I will be facing them anyways on a mill so everything should line up perfect.Next up is making the top die holder and also a shaft/bushing/bearing system to guide the top die onto the bottom one.dynasty 200dx, millermatic 175, hypertherm powermax 45, princess auto bandsaw, 2x2 torchmate cnc, 45 ton hydraulic press brake
Reply:This is the one I made one weekend, used a 40 ton press brake attachment http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...6970_7902_7902Then got 2 20 ton air over hydro jacks from HF, the springs were attached on the jacks, so I simply reused the hardware. Originally had plans to bolt it to the floor, decided not to after my first tests, but eventually had to add an additional I beam to the base because of distortion when bending thicker material. Reply:BruceTS:  Thanks for the pic, I'm new to this, how do you use both jacks at the same time?  Do you have to worry about them going down evenly?dynasty 200dx, millermatic 175, hypertherm powermax 45, princess auto bandsaw, 2x2 torchmate cnc, 45 ton hydraulic press brake
Reply:I have both connected to air and operate the 2 valves at the same time. If I need to have them come down at the same rate I put a level between the two jacks and release one valve to adjust. Mostly I do 3 different angles, so I made stops to simplify the process. I thought about tying the rams together so the pressure is equal to make them come down evenly, but I've gotten used to it now and like the option of taking the jacks out to use for other projects.
Reply:Here's a sample of what I make. I have a template that allows me to quickly plasma out my parts. The press was built specifically to make those bends, yet have clearance for sections to remain straight. Attached Images
Reply:BruceTS: looks good, what are those parts you are making?  Material and thickness?Got a little bit of work done on the welding cart today.  Still need to make botle mounts, filler rod holders and pedal holder.  Tried out my new sst pedal, works really nice.  Also need to make flatbar mounts to hold the machine in place.  Press update: decided to go with bronze bushings to ride on machined pins as a machining project so hopefully should have some more pics later this week.dynasty 200dx, millermatic 175, hypertherm powermax 45, princess auto bandsaw, 2x2 torchmate cnc, 45 ton hydraulic press brake
Reply:sdubfid-Where did you find the raw stock for the press brake? I would like to make one myself and that would save a lot of time machinging plate to the right shape. -DanOwnerDW Metalworks LLCMiller Trailblazer 302Miller 8RC FeederMiller Passport PlusMiller Dynasty 200 DX W/Coolmate 1Hobart Handler 135Hypertherm PowerMAX 30Smith O/A Torch SetPlus much much more

Reply:Great job on the side skirts... When I saw it at the top of this thread I thought to my self. "Must be a Toyota 4Runner owner!" And I was right.... I'm a 4Runner owner as well...Also great job all around!

Reply:BruceTS, You could remove the air valves for those jacks and install female quick connects, then you could makeup a three way with two male ends and one female, put an extra male on each air valve. Then you could very easily swap between single or tandem operation without disabling either jack, justmake sure that you keep up with BOTH air valves!Hope this helps!Aeromax Service Truck w/ 6,000lb Crane to carry my toys.Miller Trailblazer 302'69 Lincoln SA-200A couple of Victor Jr's to make big pieces smaller..........
