I bought a welding table off of craigslist a few weeks ago.  It has a 3/4 inch thick top, but was a little high for my liking.  It had steel pads on each leg, so to make it shorter I cut the length out of the middle.   The legs are made out of 4x4 tubing.  I beveled the edged where I welded.  In the constant effort to use my TIG I tigged the root, and then came back with my MIG to fill in the bevel.  I don't have any pics of the MIG work, my camera card filled up on me.  I was just happy to be out in the shop on a nice day welding! Reply:Looks like a good way to practice.  I can't do TIG, and I know I don't have the patience for it.  I'm more of a blob glob and move on sorta dude"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Thanks samm.  I'm trying to get as much practice as I can.  I took an old trailer of mine to a professional to have him weld a new hitch coupler on last week. I felt kind of embarrassed/cheap when we were looking and talking about some other non critical welding things I wanted to do to it, but told him I could take care of it.  I just didn't want to give up any opportunities for practice.Lincoln Precision TIG 225Hobart Handler 175
