Reply:I wouldn't touch that with a million foot pole. Those frames are welded and heat treated / stress relieved.

Reply:Hello portugal100, long story short, it is likely that this frame is built with heat-treated aluminum and when it was originally fabricated it was heat-treated after all of the welding was done. Making a repair on it could very likely present a compromise of the integrity of the frame as a whole. Short of a complete stripping and then welding and having the entire frame heat-treated once again you might set yourself up for a failure that could cause yourself some great personal injury or that of others if you elect to simply have it "welded". Just my $.02. It may seem like way over-kill considering my description here, but lawyers love having something to debate and make money from. Good luck and best regards, Allanaevald
