I found this on another forum, and since I've been looking around at a belt/disc sander lately....I may have to see what kind of scrap I can come up with in the next little while and build one (of course it'll be welded though)http://www.mickleyknives.com/html/no_weld_grinder.html-Millermatic 211, Powermax 380, and way too many other tools to list....-Unofficial, professsional, garage tinkerer...
Reply:That's a good worth while project.  Here's a thread where I posted some pictures of one I made several years ago.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=38078Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch
Reply:I would recommend looking at the KMG grinder (that no-weld grinder is loosely based on Bob's 2x72 grinder...although the no-weld one is really really flimsy in comparison).  The interesting thing is that Bob's grinders don't really have any welds on them...they are however machined, drilled, tapped and threaded and use much heavier steel.  If you were going to build one, I'd highly recommend building one more like Bob's design that that no-weld design. Here's a link to Bob's site (Beaumont Metal Works): http://www.beaumontmetalworks.com/--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
