I am a rank amateur, but have a "61" SA200 Redface, I set up an LN25 and I am having some trouble getting everything set. Running power for LN off positive post, setting at medium heat range (5 settings), 50 or so on the fine setting. I am using Lincoln 211 .045 fluxcore. At times I get a lot of spatter, then if I crank it up and burn it in pretty hot, not so much and a pretty nice weld. Any tips about setup, I may be all wrong, just like a little advice. Welding mostly mild steel, but will be doing some oilfield pipe and sucker rod soon. Thanks for any help.
Reply:Fluxcore? Set it up for electrode negative (straight) polarity and make sure the LN-25 is set to CC.If you don't have a manual for the unit you can down-load it here:http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...r-manuals.aspxMM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Duane nailed it! I can't help you with settings, because I can't remember from one machine to the next, but it generally only takes me a few seconds to dial a machine in. Here is Innershield run on a Red Face. 7018, and most T-11 wires run great on a Red Face. Reply:I have been away from here for a few days, but appreciate the information. I set things up like you recommended and it worked pretty well. I did see quite a bit of difference in the quality of the weld using the fine adjustment. Thanks for the help.
Reply:Nice welds, my old redface likes 7018 and I set up for the 211 wire and it will be good when I get it dialed in right. Thanks.
Reply:Yeah, they're different to dial in than a electric powered Mig machine.Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400 |
