I am looking to upgrade from my Econo tig and found this welder locally. I dont know much about them and was wondering if this is a good price? Is this machine out dated? would I be better off saving some money and buying a newer machine? It would be for race car fabrication, mild steel and chrome moly roll cage work and some aluminum. Thanks !!http://baltimore.craigslist.org/tls/839718963.html
Reply:That's a fine machine. Not outdated at all. If you are looking for a new machine then that's fine but nothing wrong with an older one when wanting to save money. My tig is far older than that, and it serves me well. The machine looks as if it has been taken care of. If I was in the market I would definitely be interested in it.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......

Reply:If that deal were anywhere in TX, I'd be on my way to get it tomorrow. Good deal, buy it if you can swing the cost of possibly adding to your electrical service.
Reply:Thanks. I'll have to check what service I have.
Reply:I newer inverter could reduce the curent draw at the wall some, but it would take a good chunk more cash to get a new inverter set up with that much punch. Sounds like that machiene will do what you need and is a good step up from your econo tig.Lincoln PT185 TIGLincoln 175 MIGLincoln 240 amp AC StickLind Needle Arc plasma welderPlasma cutter, soon???
