bandsaw blades together.  I have been playing with them and get various results.  The machine is a Syncro 200 with 3/32 tung and Argon cover gas.  I have tried butting them, overlapping about 1/16 but it never seems to work well.  Last one I had on 6amps and pulse, but it did not seem to want to flow together.  Likely needed more heat.  If someone can give me some pointers as to the approximate settings I would appreciate it.  I am clamping them to aluminum as I read a few said it works as a good heat sink.  Lets hears some ideas on how to make these attempts more successful.  Thanks.Best Times with 434 Naturally Aspirated Vette60 - 1.261/8 -  6.37@ 107.25 MPH 1/4 - 10.08 & 134.9MPH1/4 - 9.60@144MPH
Reply:Clamping them flat on a 1/2" thick or so aluminum block has worked for me in the past. I would set the welder for 20 amps, and use the pedal. Make sure the tung. is a sharp point. If the filler lumps on one side a bit more, that's all right. Just use the arc to pull it over after you get it stuck together. Then grind off the excess filler. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Try brazing them.  I have had good results in the past it.  Bevel the edges and clamp down flat.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:After welding the blade needs to be annealed.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
