Reply:Congrats, and yeah, you got a great deal for a complete package and it appears to be in great shape. I have one of these and use it every day- it works great. The only annoyances are:-having 3 heat ranges. I find that welding 1/8" or slightly thinner material can be tricky- the lowest setting isn't hot enough, but the middle setting's minimum output of I think 40 amps is too high to allow good control. - No AC wave balance. Even though the welder has a lot of amperage on tap, the fixed 50% balance means it takes a lot of amps on aluminum. If you plan to do a lot of 1/4"+ I'd look into getting some helium. Under 1/4" it is sweet. -It's LOUD. The fan is a beast, like the rest of the welder. Those are all just little annoyances though, they are a very solid and capable machine. You stole it for $275.
Reply:I have one also. I love it. At this stage in the game... it's like a old glove.I too could use the AC wave balance, but otherwise, I can't think of why I would trade it away.My fan isn't that loud... not sure why. It's also the best stick machine I have ever used.(although, I have not used more than a dozen, ever )The best things in life all come on a stick!
