Once you buy something you find a better deal a few days later.I'm happy with what I paid as even though its a small one (125cu.ft. at best) it does have an argon tank and what looks to be quite a selection of filler rods. That ought to be worth the little extra I had planned to spend. I was considering holding out for a 200 but I saw this today, it's only 2hrs away and if what the seller says it true (I have no reason to doubt) it still has 28mos of warranty left.

Reply:Good move Duane. Most guys hit a certain age and either buy a Harley, run off with the neighbors wife, or both.Forget the Harley, keep your lovely wife, and enjoy the welder. Don't forget to take plenty of tie straps!!!!!!!"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Wow, even better! The hell about machines like that is what it costs dragging a 100A outlet into a place there wasn't one already. My little 200A inverter pulls less than 30A at full scoot, so cheating a short drop in the garage at home wasn't a big deal. When I build my next home, I'll have a detached garage out back where my junk will live, and I'll build it with a 200A service of its own so I can buy a big, cheap dinosaur welder with which I can melt things with aplomb. Dang 350A and up inverters are painfully expensive. I bet a lot of the welders we see for sale "cheap" are offered as such because the owner doesn't want to lay open his wallet and let an electrician have his way with it. Can't say that I blame them, either.BK

Reply:Well the Syncrowave 180's 'home' at last after a 4hr round trip drive, a couple hours stop off at the Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston and a couple hours at a monthly flea market in Winnie on the way back. Got about half way home and realized we didn't get all that filler rod that was part of the sale so I made a call to the seller who - after apologizing repeatedly - promised to ship it out to me after the weekend. I guess I was just so excited to get the unit and occupied with getting it loaded and secured and packing up the torch, leads and pedal I just forgot about it so it's at least as much my fault as the sellers. This thing can't have more than a couple hours on it. Still has 1000+psi in what I believe is the original bottle. It's only an 80 (SundownIII - and you thought the 125 was a toy on the MM200!) so it'll most likely become my reserve in the near future. Didn't power it up yet as the plug is different than mine so a trip to Home Depot is in order for tomorrow.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Good score on the welder. As for the pony bottle, just keep it as a spare, that is a great way to go. It will hold you over the next big project where you find yourself out of gas on Saturday at 2pm, and the gas supply closed at noon. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:Yup..pics would be required methinks. If you pop over to Houston some day, I know for a fact that AOC will still upgrade bottles. I have done that to all but one of my 80's with them. Last one I did was a 80cf to a 125cf and that ran me about 75 bucks for the bottle alone. Might be worth it for you down the road.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
Reply:Sorry for the delay. Digital camera was like my photographic memory - outta film.Judy suggested a reenactment of the homecoming unloading but it was too difficult to simulate the darkness and hordes of mosquitoes this time of day so you'll have to use your imagination. You'll have to envision all that filler rod too that got left behind and won't be here for a few more days. Reply:We have ignition. If I'm reading the manual and display correctly Tiggy has but 2hrs/14min of run time (photo 1) or at least I'm going to err on the side of 'feel good'. The manual is just slightly unclear on the subject but I assume the '-' in front of the '1' separates the hours (2) from the minutes (14). Not only that, wouldn't the half pressure 80cf argon bottle line up with approximately 2 hours of run time if operating at approximately 20cfh?Anyway, here are some more shots powered up. Open output voltage varied only .1v from my multimeter in DC and approximately 5v in AC in stick mode.
