I finally started the atv tipping trailer (will post photos later when I get a chance), have most of the upper body prepared now, and about to start the lower bottom frame that will be attached to the axle and hinge points. However, I am not sure what size of box section I should use, I have loads of 40mm x 40mm x 3mm box sections in the garage, but I am not sure if I should scrap the idea of using this and use 50mm x 50mm x 5mm box sections instead. The trailer dimensions are 1.2m (W) x 1.9m (L). My concerns are: Will the 40mm box sections be strong enough to carry much weight on the trailer before it starts to bend. Will the 50mm box sections be just to heavy to use for a quad trailer that will be used off road. Any help of this would be great as I just dont have a clue about this one!!
Reply:Ask yourself what might get loaded into said trailer. You already have lots of the 4mil. What the hay? Can you imagine collapsing a frame built with that stuff?
