I am working on redesigning my shop....making new tables and tool stands.I need to put some nice, heavy duty leveling feet on these tables and stands I am building.I already googled it, but I'd like to hear from you guys who have already used some nice leveling feet.thanks for the help!
Reply:Depends on what your looking for. For most things I would just make my own. Weld a nut onto the bottom of the leg and use a bolt, works for most things.

Reply:I have a definite opinion about this. There are 10,000 ways to level tables, stands, machines, ect. What you need to look at is the floor and how precise the leveling has to be. Machines may need rubber mounted feet to absorb vibration whereas a welding table and stands only needs to remove the wobble. Anything with three legs or points of contact will remove the wobble because the three points will always find a home. Say you have a grinder stand with a auto wheel for the base. If you weld three nuts to the bottom lip of the rim 120 degrees apart, no more wobble. Not so with four legs. If the table is ridgid, most likey one leg will not touch and cause a wobble. If the table has pipe for legs, you can shorten one leg and weld a 5/8" or 3/4" nut to it and put in a bolt and remove the wobble. If it has big square legs, 4" or 6" you will need cut a plate, drill and weld a nut to it and weld that to the shorten leg. If on the other hand, you want precise leveling or your floor is in bad shape you will need to put levelers on all four legs. Most levelers are a bolt and nut deal. Just my opinion, I hope it helps.
Reply:thanks for the replies. mcmaster sure does have alot of choices! I had already thought of using a nut welded to each leg with a bolt as the level adjuster. I am looking for some nice looking feet for these tables, and the bolt head look isn't what I am after. It certainly would be effective and cheap, but just not what I want for this.
Reply:use-enco.com has some nice rubber heavy duty ones
Reply:msc is a good place
Reply:enco sure does have some seriously heavy duty units! some of them are rated at 12,000 pounds per foot!
Reply:Apollo, do you have a website and US offices for shipping?
Reply:I have used these in various sizes on many of the items in the shop. They are usually available at a discount in their monthly flyer. They seemed to be the highest quality that I could find at a reasonable price point.
Reply:We use a lot of those here at work. If I need them in a hurry I use McMaster Carr. If you can wait a few more days, Reid Supply usually has a lot better price.http://www.reidsupply.com/Results.aspx?pid=1500000Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch
Reply:Try ebay. I picked up quite a few over time, some really nice with swivels. There are some that aren't that good, like game levelling machines.Jim
