miller sync 250 help

In my class we have a miller sync 250 tig but they don't have any torches . Now I have looking into getting a tig machine from harbor freight 98233 . Would that torch fit the miller.
Reply:I'd have to look at the connectors and see what ones are on each.I believe the connector on the HF unit is the small Dinse connector rather than the larger Dinse connector that's more common and used on the Synrcowaves. If so no it will not work.Note that the Syncrowave 250 is set up to feed gas thru the machine panel rather than use a torch with a gas valve. That doesn't mean you can't use a torch with a gas valve, only that you won't be able to have the gas start and stop as soon as you hit the pedal.If you are looking for an inexpensive tig torch. you might look at the CK 150 and CK 210 air cooled tig torches. You decide if you need the one with or without the gas valve, depending on exactly what you have with the Syncrowave. ( Not sure if you have a pedal or are going to simply scratch start with it) The CK 150 is the "normal" 17 series torch that comes with most "small" air cooled tigs like my Syncro 200. The CK210 uses the same parts, but has a higher rating if you are going to be running at higher amps or doing alum and don't want to go to a water cooled torch. Most Syncro 250's I've seen generally run water cooled torches to get the most out of the machine at the upper end.You'll also need to get the reg and gas hose if you don't have those as well as the right  dinse connector.  Don't forget consumables like cups, tungsten, collets and collet holders. The guys at Arczone can probably walk you thru what to look for to make sure you get what you need.
