I'm not sure if something is wrong with my machine or its just crap. It's a 220v, I am just welding body panels with it. And after like a minute of welding it just quits welding for a little while and then starts again. I don't think its hitting the duty cycle unless its less than a 10% duty cycle which its not. Has anyone had a problem like this? Is there any way to correct this problem or even modify the machine to increase the duty cycle if that is the issue?
Reply:Is the fan coming on?  Are the exhaust vents blocked?  Has it accumulated so much crud from dirty air that it can't cool properly - fixed by taking the lid off and blowing it out.  Could also be faulty thermal detector. My first guess would be that the guts are getting to temp too quickly because of one or more of these issues.Hobart LX235Victor 250 Oxy-Acetylene Rig (welding and cutting)Bobcat 773F-350, 1999, 4x4, 16' 10K# trailerOutdoor Wood Burner - 10 cords/year
Reply:Sounds good. Give me a good place to start. Machine runs just fine when the heat is turned up
