Hi I have just bought a cheap Tig to teach myself how to weld! I did the same thing with Mig and I figure now is a good time for a change. My main intention is to weld Aluminium and the odd bit of stainless. All automotive based.I intend to learn on a sheet of 1/8 sheet aluminium that I have already.I am yet to buy consumables (filler and tips) and would love some advice on what to get for this application? The unit in question is a Allmax 200 AC/DC tig with the foot pedal. I have a bottle of Argon already.I would like suggestions on settings to get me started (please use simple explainations if possible) Thanks for any help, you have all helped so much in the past!AdamLast edited by Adam_PSi; 11-27-2008 at 05:29 AM.

Reply:some great info there thanks!Got some practice in today and Im already happy with my progress! One thing I cant figure out is the pulse feature? I can get great looking welds without it (yet to be tested tho) but if i flick the pulse on its either to quick and makes it look like mig welds or it burns up the tungsten...any thoughts on what I need to do?Any help would be great!?!
