Not much to say. The boss aquired this and lots of other gear from a buy-out when another company closed up shop. It had no wheels. Attached ImagesCity of L.A. Reply:I have the 180 amp version of the same welder. It's now 35 years old and still going strong. Great little welder for AC stick.Hate to say it but mine still doesn't have wheels under it. I use a cheap Chinese dolly. One of these days it will get this treatment.Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call...
Reply:I have a similar size welder but it lacks those steel-hoop handles at the back of the tombstone.  Thus, wheels alone won't give me the ability to easily wheel my welder around.  I was thinking more of mounting it on a dolly. As a possible modification to tanglediver's design, perhaps one could weld some 3/4 inch diameter black iron couplers onto the back of the frame near the wheels.  When you need to move the welder, screw in a couple of 4 foot lengths of 3/4 inch black iron pipe - and whalla - you have an instant dolly. The nice thing about this approach is that it comes apart - useful when trying to load the welder into the trunk of a car or the floor by the front passenger seat.  The ability to quickly remove the wheel bed and handles would be big advantage.Rick V
Reply:Nice cart!

Reply:tanglediver - Good idea!
Reply:I made something similar for my old Thunderbolt a few years back.  I think it is duane that keeps preaching about grabbing the handle bars off scrapped lawn mowers and bed frames discarded on trash day.  That is exactly what I used for materials and even got the wheels and axle bolts from a lawn mower.  Total material cost?  Maybe a buck for welding rod?Just sayin'Did I ever mention I am a CHEAP SOB?RogerOld, Tired, and GRUMPYSalesman will call, Batteries not included, Assembly is required, and FREE ADVICE IS WORTH EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT!Dial Arc 250HFThunderbolt 225 AC/DCAssorted A/O torches
