when i built my weldercart i put real nice wheels on it. it hasnt rolled an inch since. it sits in a corner and i drag lead out to my work area, my garage is where i store my tools but aside from a small area where i can tig its too small to do any work inside.i recently bought a tall plastic garden shed for my oa stuff , i was not comfortable with it inside, so i decided to get the welding leads outside where they belong and make set up and clean up easier, to say nothing of not having to step over the leads twnty five times an hour.i made a hole in the wall((what hole, honey?)sleeved it, made a little stand for my hoses and leads and it works a lot better. Reply:I gotta say, looking at those pictures make me feel a lot better about the "shape" I try to keep my shop in.Took me a while to find the "welding cart".Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
Reply:Nice solution, took me a while to wrap my brain around it.I'd like to see more of the hammer carousel. One thought on the remote lead location - Since the leads are not visible from the welder, and with lots of metal in the shed, it would be possible to power-up the welder and not realize that there is an unintended arc being made in the shed. Maybe there should be insulated "cups" where the stinger and clamp are always parked when not in use.Good LuckLast edited by denrep; 05-23-2010 at 01:00 PM.
