Reply:nice projects - but ill add my 2 cents first off your monster jack - while an awesome idea using inflatable tires, there is a reason jacks have casters on them. with those wheels the jack will most likely have a greater tendency to roll when weighted down and could pose a potential hazard - also you have ot make sure the tires combined strength are far greater than that of the jack - if not, when you load it down you could have a tire blowout from too much weight - could pose a safety hazard....though i bet its much easier to move around than one with castersyour engine stand - awesome engine cradle, but you need to check your geometry. if you look at most engine stands the angle between the base and the engine mounting upright is an Obtuse angle - your is an Acute angle - meaning it needs to lean the other way - away from the bas to help support the weight of the engine. Now you dont have to change it as VW engines are soo light weight - but i would at least put a support from the end of the base to some part on the upright - try to make a triangle as best as you can. a gussett is not enough strength to hold up a heavier motor.also because you have a single wheel in the front or under the engine (3 wheeler so to say) it will have a much greater tendency to tip over than an engine stand with 4 feet.http://www.handytoolrental.net/image...gine_stand.jpg - if you look at that example you can see there are 4 casters for added stability and the engine support leans back slightly to help counter the weight of the motor on the upright.all in all great projectsI break things for a living...
Reply:I like that oil holder. Over the years I've had quart or two of my hide away emergency stashes get squashed."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:the most the jack is ever going to lift is a front or the rear of a buggy... the wheels are rated at 600lbs per tire the whole rear of my buggy it i was going to jack  it up.SIN CITY METAL WORKSvisit my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/devvon
Reply:HiWD40Years ago when I worked on VW engines I made a jig to torque the flywheel on the engine. That gland nut need some real arm pressure to get it tight.  The jig looks like an "F" the 2 horizontal tips had a hole drilled in it to match two bolt holes for the clutch and the vertical part layed on the floor it was about 4' long. I attached it to the flywheel and put my foot on it and torqued the gland nut.have funTom
