Am preparing a home addition design change in AutoCAD in advance of revisiting the structural engineer for a second approval. For now I mostly need to zone in on how best to fabricate a 12' wide truss which will support - on it's crossbeam, one end of a W14 or W16.Will be contracting a local welder for the work, but for now I am looking for info or a thread on here that might discuss typical truss bracing solutions, and at which angles those braces are angled, cut and welded. Also have questions about base plate thicknesses, and best welding plan for raising members or assemblies with an excavator (with jaws).Any URL references to typical truss design solutions, bolted or welded would help greatly keep my over-building tendency under control. Will looksee if there are any Truss, Industrial or Structural related threads on here. Thanks |
