Dunno whether this will be of interest to folks here or not. Possibly the sculptural / architectural guys. This is the support frame for a "rolling ball sculpture".If your first reaction is, "what the heck is a rolling ball sculpture", then go here:http://www.oobject.com/category/15-v...ball-machines/This project has been stalled for a few years, while I work on other things. I have severe ADHD, which I manage, barely, but it actually helps me if I have multiple projects going at once, so when I hit a snag on one, I can turn aside and work on something else until I either figure out the solution to the problem, or save up the money for the expensive part, etc, etc.I solve the issue that stopped me though, so as soon as I get a few other projects out of the way, I'll start laying the tracks and building the fun features that the rolling balls (.875" ball bearings in my case) will interact with.More pics of the support frame here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/gomezaddams/tags/rbs/(see individual photo pages for descriptive text) Attached Images
Reply:those are cool. i too suffer from add and have a million different projects in the fire at any given time it serves to keep me focused.i would like to see some pics of it along the way to completion. After the arc has died the weld remains
Reply:Right now, I am working on yard and garden with most of my free time, and with the "remaining" time (I think we're into negative numbers here) I've been working on a "mad scientist's light switch" for my workshop ceiling lights, which is getting close to done. When that's done, I'll probably get back into this project, at least part of the time. When I'm not working on the micro-Marx generator, parts for railgun #2, or Tesla coil, that is!
Reply:WoW! What a cool project. Lots of planning ahead would be needed. |
