Sorry, i searched and read the owners manuals as far as I could pay attention.I've got the Lincoln Invertec 130 for power and a Miller S-32P wire feeder. Do I set the Miller for CV or CC?Sorry for the dumb question, Tom.Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
Reply:That's a CC machine. However it only puts out 130 amps. I doubt that's enough to run that VS feeder well in CC mode. Usually to get a VS type feeder to work well off a CC power source you need enough amps to push it up into spray. In short arc the feeder simply won't adjust fast enough to mimic CV and run well. Don't expect solid wire to work well at all. .030 FC wire might work, but don't expect it to run like a "normal" short arc mig..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks D, I "knew" something was up. It'd run great for 3+ inches then fall flat, and the welds looked like spray arc with the exception of a crystalline cover, somewhat of a slag.I guess a Miller 150 S/STL wouldn't be enough either?Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom.... |
