Sell me on a Esab multimaster 260

Reply:Really nice stick machine. Way better tig machine then a Lincoln powermig 300/350 Inverter type arc was surprising . It will dial down to 1 amp when using a foot pedal. Much better then rated. Excellent Short-arc / Spray-arc  mig  Pulse is ok but not anywhere as nice as my new Lincoln C-300. Much more adaptive on the Lincoln. Still, it does work. Pretty low cost boards and not a million of them either. No run-in/ hot start feature for aluminum mig. It has a crisp arc but will still wet out. It's seems like the hardest thing for welding engineers to get right. I had about every option on mine and it will cost quite a bit to outfit that way.

Reply:Esab is far from well supported in my area....BUT, I have had no issues at all getting service and parts. The customer service is always very helpful and easy to get on the phone from all I have seen. I had a troubleshooting issue with an older TIG unit and they were right there on the phone walking me through the steps and emailed me some diagrams and charts that would help. I call that top notch. As for parts, the TIG unit needed a new HF assembly. None were in stock, so they made one and shipped it to me. I had it in 10 days...three days to process the order, make the unit and ship...and UPS took the other 7 to pony express it to me. Not too bad, IMO. Reply:I have a couple of LWS, that carry the main consumables, but have ordered directly from ESAB  a drive roll piece I needed.
