my cousinn/uncle Jethro done built this turbo manifolt and I want to make one two. Do you think I could do this in a single pass with my new Everlast 110 v mig?  I mean my buddy's friend's barber's cousin said he read all about it on a forum and that it should be no problem. I no I may have to make a few practice passes, but I did seen a you-tube video a few years back about mig welding and it looked pretty easy---like sneakin up on a sleepin sheep (shhhhhh they gets a mite ornery in the middle a tha nite)   Seems like you jest aim that hose kinda thing where you want the metal to go and bam-o wham-o you got it stuck together!!! Any help ud be presheaited. Ok.....anyone want to contribute some pics of the worst welds or weld jobs ever? I about split a gut when I saw this online and had to post. Who knows, maybe its from one of our newbies lol.  I have a pile of stuff from past customers I am going to look through and see what kind of awesomeness I can find. Meanwhile lets see what ya got! Reply:As a inspector, I do not have enough time or space on this laptop to post all of the crap Ive seen.
Reply:Coupe, I was just thinking about this topic today after reading through the MIG like TIG posts. I think there's something to be said for studying good welds with the aim of improving oneself, but as they say - humor cures all ails, so why not?At least give us some specs if you're going to post that stuff!I'm guessing it was done with a Home Jobbie 200 XL  Attached Images
Reply:My opinion here, i think there's no problem to be a bad welder, or make really ugly welds beads if you know that you are not a pro, if someone is humble by saying ''im hobbyist'' or ''beginner'' we shouldn't laugh on them to!the big problem is someone who pretend to be good!Calculator > Bevel Square
Reply:Thats what we're looking for Larry O!  This post was to have some laughs and see some interesting stuff. LayoutMan  needs to see some humor in this as well. I would never, ever criticize someones work if they put their best effort into it. We all need to start somewhere. HOWEVER as soon as you hang a shingle out and charge a dime for your work you are fair game to all.     I'm a better-than-fair welder but there are a few guys here who I think must have traded their soul to be able to produce the welds that I have seen. Mostly a few pipe guys that I am amazed at. Now show us some crazy stuff for laughs and if you have no sense of humor don't chime in. Reply:now now, don't be showing off all my work. someone might pick up on my technique and start steeling my customers...now in all seriousness I'm going to get a tub of popcorn a nice cool adult beverage and enjoy the show. There are no problems. Reply:Did you flow bench that while building? It looks like it'll flow like a mother.  But the flange welds look a little light. Lol...Sorry, I do like your posting and it is funny to see those pictures.  You just had me smiling at your comment above.  Don't take offense.
