Welding rates

Is there anywhere I can find out the going rates for moile welding around the southern region? I've just started back to doing side work in the shop and on the road and I know the rates have changed in the last 10 years. I've already tried some welders around here but they are keeping a tight lip on there rates. Thanks

Reply:$50 - $70/hr. . . government is smaller here in the south than the east or left coast so, making a little less an hour you still come out ahead.  But what do i know, i am just a backwards, God fearing, redneck in a fly-over state.
Reply:Thanks guys when I quit welding for the public the rate was 35.00 hr. almost 10 yrs ago. Thats a big help

Reply:Anywhere from $25 to $65/hr in Eastern Neb. Thing here is, you can't charge some farmer $80/hr to do a few welds on his loader bucket, he will stop coming to you to have his stuff fixed and go somewhere else... But a small $20 fee is more appealing. Reply:$85-$100shop, $125-$150 mobile, with mobile rate starting from my door and back again....farmers and single mothers with babies born with their hearts on the outside priced all the same....the only exception to this rule is: politicians are charged at-least double....and even then i change my mind when its midway through the job and raise the price again by another 3-500% citing some lame excuse

Reply:Here in Forks Wa" the wet end" we charge 70 an hour in the shop or mobile. But we don't have much competition a lower rate will bring more business. To low and people will question the quality.Hickory

Reply:I have been getting $100 for longer than I can remember. But I only do Marine Aluminum.I will say tho, with this new economy, I simply bid jobs up front. Everyone stays happy unless something gets missed.
