so i have wanted one of these lenses for a while now... finally picked one up used for $150 on ebay.first off... the hood i put it in is the standard jackson helmet. no graphics or anything. it comes with a clip/metal wire that holds the lens in place.this metal wire does not make installing the EQC very easy. and i cant fit the rubber seal around the clear lens and make the EQC fit also. i imagine there is a better fastening device for the lens. i would really like to be able to fit a clear lens over the back side of the EQC. next question... the spots that show up on the lens when it is off, that is just a warning so that you don't blind yourself right?and lastly... i'm not too familiar on how these ADF lens work... but if i look straight ahead, and what i am welding is in the far bottom left or right corner of my view, the lens shows the weld as a green light and not the usual crystal blue. it almost looks as if i am in grinding mode. but not as bright. not sure if this is a defect, or if it's just the bad angle not allowing the ADF mechanism to work properly.
Reply:I have a Nexgen lens that's held in place by a plastic retainer. My lens is setup with a clear plastic protector on the front and back of the lens.The polka dots when it's off are perfectly normal.
