i need a serious well experienced  aluminum tig welder to fill in the intake/exhaust ports on a harley shovelhead .. i have 2 front heads and i will remove the exhaust port and have the head ready to weld.. the one front head needs to have the port moved over 3/4" to the right so the hole can be bored back to 1 5/8ths.   the intake ports are 1 1/2" in diameter and will be moved 1/2" to the right again i need the ports to be filled in 1/2" so a new 1 1/2" intake hole can be bored.. i have plenty of pics to show what im doing... in the end it will have 2 front heads on the bike and two 38mm mikuni carbs on the right side and the exhaust on the left..  IF you think you can do this email me for pics @  [email protected]

Reply:i have a miller 165  - i also have argon/helium mix -- i also have the new micro torches but they wont weld that thick of aluminum -- i use the acr-zones  ARC TIME tungstens  try them and ya wont use anythign else..  i have no problems welding the aluminum any place else on the heads  i have a test head that i try stuff on.. i know i dont need such a high rate of gas flow inside the ports -- i really, really need someone with experience welding aluminum inside alum. ports  the ports are  1 1/2"  intake and ya need to go about 2" in the port.. since im moving the port over 1/2" there actually more room than the 1 1/2" hole ---- the exhaust port for the rear head thats a front head the exhaust port has to go over  3/4" and 2" deep -- this hole is larger and since i bored the new hole you actually have more room to weld...  when done the ports will have 2 bolt flanges welded on them..

Reply:got all my welding problems solved by Mr. Jim. that guy can weld like i have never seen -- closed the holes up on the heads to less than 1/2 -- they machined prefect, no pits, flaws, perfect -- i have never seen tig welding inside a port like that and so perfect --   head have no valve seats or guides as of now-- next is to send them to lloyd elliot to install the rowe seats, cast iron guides and the ferrea valves -- leinweber delivered the special cam the L3S -- the 38mm mikunis sit in alignment like i wanted as not to get in my way of leg room..
