Reply:That's a really good idea. I like how it keeps the middle of the bed open.IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8
Reply:I've been meaning to make something similar for quit a while now. do you bungy strap them to hold them in there, or do they stay on their own?Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch
Reply:I use one of those bunngies that is looped into a plastic ball. After making a few loops around the tire, I put the plastic ball end in the "catch" that I welded. The "catch" is seen in the picture..... The 3" rod that points straight down
Reply:if i had the bed space to make one for mine i would, but the tool box takes the space. i just mounted a locking skewr on the lid of the tool box. Reply:Very nice! I'd like to build a rack like this but need to get a pickup first! Please do post more detailed pictures - another incentive to get a truck.

Reply:I actually built this for a friend of mine. When I get a chance, I'll take better pics of it (if he still has it). I built it to fit in his small truck. The bikes ride fine just standing up. He has never had to tie the front down or anything like that. I'm thinking about building a 4 bike hauler like it to put in my homemade utility trailer. |
