I got new toys.  A syncrowave 180, and it came with a tweco TC900 cooler.  unfortunately, the cooler leaks from a hole that i think is suppose to be there.here's the coolerand here's the hole i was talking about (right above the arrow).  this is a view from the bottom looking up.  I dont knowwhat this hole does, but its leaking from here.  180 degrees from this hole, on the the top of this brass fitting, there's an identical hole.  but the top one doesn't leak.  this is a pic of the rear of the coolerany suggestions?  thanks in advancehere are the pics of the new toysLast edited by oxy moron; 04-30-2009 at 02:55 AM.
Reply:oh, on a side note, completely not related, i did eventually started another project with oxy/ace.  i made this shop utility cart, 100% O/A.  special thanks to Makoman1860 (i still owe you a case of beer) for helping me with the fillets.  its not quite finished yet.  its staying in the garage because its too ugly.  its a proto-type, or test run for a second one I will build (with bigger wheels) to carry groceries into the house.... the second one will be my first tig project.anyway, back to the topic at hand.Last edited by oxy moron; 04-30-2009 at 02:56 AM.
Reply:The hole at the bottom of the pump is a weep hole.  It allows any liquid to escape if it leaks past the seal on the shaft.  Very similar to a water pump on a car.The seal needs replaced on the pump.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:What Mark said.  These Procon pumps http://www.proconpumps.com/Products.htm#Series1 are a piece of cake to rebuild and regularly go for pennies on the dollar on ebay if you just want to replace it.  I used to get parts for them from a distributor in the Dallas area but I'll have to see if I can find their information.Nice score.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Those pumps are similar, if not he same, as the pumps used on carbonation equipment. As Duane said, they are easy to rebuild. The shaft which drives it should have a rectangular end and fit into a similar slot in the pump, so releasing that band is all that is necessary to seperate the motor from the pump.
Reply:pump seal!  thanks a bunch.I love this forum, so many knowledgeful people
Reply:ug, it looks like there's no way to get a "rebuild kit" I gotta drain the fluids and take the pump to a repairman.  they dont want end users messing with that stuff, i guess.
Reply:Graingers has a fairly good assortment of seals for pumps like that, if you can't find one elsewhere. I think you can disassemble yours to get measurements and use them to find what you need. Probably need shaft diameter, chamber diameter, and seal thickness.I was going to copy your picture, invert it so I could read the numbers, and try to look the unit up, but I'm sure I won't get to it tonight.
Reply:flipped it
