Hi All!! Here is the first project that I built with my new Miller 211. I really like the 211. It should do anything that I will need to do.It is mainly 1" square tubing and was a lot of fun to build. It took me about a week of evenings and a couple weekends. It probably took me longer than some might have taken but I have not done a lot of this kind of work before.  As with everything the prep and finish took longer than the actual welding. The first picture is just before painting and the other is installed. Reply:Nice job!  Useful project too.(Retired) Professional firefighter, amateur everything else I try to do...Oh yeah:  Go Big Red!   (You know: one of the 12 members of the Big 10 cuz we left the 10 members of the Big 12...)
Reply:Nice!! How do you like the 211?Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:Thanks all. I built it because we haul a lot of wood and the wooden ones i originally built wouldn't stay in when I dumped.I love the 211. It works great and should do pretty much anything that I need to do. I took a 48hr MIG course in the spring at the college that I work at. Learned a ton from that. Not sure the model but we were using big Miller supplies with big wire feeders and Tweko guns. Just have to get used to the 211 and play with different thicknesses of material. All I have to do is figure out what to build next. LOLBill
Reply:Indeed, very cool project.  Hope you were able to find a good price on that perforated steel.  I'm hunting around for some now.  -It's very expensive.I hear you on figuring-out what to build next.  ... When all you have is a welder, everthing looks like metal...
Reply:Thanks Ray. I am not sure exactly what I paid for the expanded metal but it cost me 100 bucks for 48ft of 1X1X1/8, 12 ft of 3/4 X 3/4 X.065 and a 4X8 sheet of the expanded metal. I know the 1"square was $1.00/ft but I never looked at what I paid for the rest. I just thought $100.00 was a good deal and paid it. LOLBill
Reply:Neat project, looks factory!
Reply:Thanks JonnyBill
Reply:Hey Ray: I checked my bill and it was $48.00 For a 4 X 8 sheet.Bill

Reply:That'll come in handy, nice work!
Reply:Thanks yammy. It will be very handy.Ray: I don't know where you are but I got mine at a place called General Scrap. They do have a lot of scrap metal but they also sell new stuff at good prices. Maybe you have someone like that around you.Bill
