Ok, my boss wants me to find some type of welder that clamps onto an I beam and uses resistance welding to fasten some socket type hold down to the beam. Then we pour concrete around it. He doesn't know what its called although he's seen them before. I've had them described to be really only in the context of "hey you should see this really cool thing." If anyone knows what I'm describing I would appreciate a name here. I'm trying to track one down but need to know more about it before I can actually find one. Thanks.Matt
Reply:Its called stud welding and its used to attach what looks like huge nailes to steel to get the concrete something to stick too.Lincoln 300 Vantage 2008300 Commander 1999SA250 1999SA200 1968Miller Syncrowave 200XMT350MPA/S-52E/xr-15Xtreme 12vs Millermatic 251 w/30A Millermatic 251 Dialarc 250 Hypertherm 1250 GEKA & Bantom Ironwokers
Reply:Thanks alot, any idea who all makes these things? Or should I just google the term and see what comes up?
Reply:There are sunbelt and nelson. Last time I had to put concrete studs on, I just used 7018 and made two passes around each one. Made the engineer happy since I couldn't get a stud welder rental in time.Lincoln 300 Vantage 2008300 Commander 1999SA250 1999SA200 1968Miller Syncrowave 200XMT350MPA/S-52E/xr-15Xtreme 12vs Millermatic 251 w/30A Millermatic 251 Dialarc 250 Hypertherm 1250 GEKA & Bantom Ironwokers |
