I was watching How it's made last night and spotted something kinda funny. I'm pretty sure the tacks were not good. Maybe I'm wrong.[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWo5h3Taids[/ame]Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:Can't really tell from the terrible quality video of a video of a video...Probably doesn't matter anyway, I'm guessing the beveled holes on the boiler head are for accommodating a weld from the side opposite of where he tacked.Last edited by MikeGyver; 07-07-2012 at 02:11 AM.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Think you're right. At least they called them 'welds' rather than 'soldered' as they used to. Good show tho, I like it......Mike
Reply:I'm guessing that the bead on the tube was to keep it from slipping out of the manifold, not for a tack at all.Two turn tables and a microphone. |
