Reply:i am concerned that the 20 thread per inch bolt will only catch about 2 threads in the 1 x 1/2 channel....?
Reply:Yup, that was my conceren too. I was going to weld a nut behind it but i figured i would try to tap it first. Its actually a 3-4 threads. I put the bolt in and cranked them down and everthing was fine.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:Looks nice. For future hand rail work, most ornamental metal suppliers sell weldable hand rail wall mounts. Alot faster/cheaper to just weld them on than drilling/tapping/bolting and a stronger connection as well.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
