Did some mig stainless today and realized that I had no post flow gas like when I Tig. I was using tri-gas and a Lincoln 350mp welder that had a post flow option in mig but couldn't get it working. I was using .030 308L wire on some 316 stainless. So, the question of the day is do I need post flow gas while migging stainless? Thanks
Reply:Not really, the post flow for your GTAW is to protect your tungsten. Yes, I agree that by holding the torch over the weld when you finish welding with GTAW you will have shiny metal as oppose to not holding it over the weld unil it cools. |
