anyone know what 10018 D2... i have to take a test tig root,hot pass,and fill then cap it with 10018 D2.
Reply:10018 D2 is a high strength low hydrogen rod. It's in the same family as 7018. 100 is the tensile strength, just like 70 is the tensile strength in 7018.Just some friendly advice, if they give you recommendations on pre-heat and interpass for the test, pay close attention to them. High strength filler metals are less tolerant of deviations from the recommended temperature ranges.I'm guessing that the test is evaluated by X-ray.
