I found an IA-SP250 on craigslist for 1000 on craigslist today. Is there anything I should look for as far as when to run away from the deal? Also are these typically good welders? Also this will be my first MIG welder, is this a good one to learn on if everything works correctly? thanks for the help in advance.Last edited by Ezalycasaid; 07-21-2012 at 08:49 AM.
Reply:I think his price is a little high. For any thing close to that price. The key pad must look like new.Have a new cap bank and you must be able to see it weld. The control pcb is very pricy And parts for are going to be hard to get soon. If it is a code 9402 welder. make him show you the cap bank. If it has round head #10 screws holding the caps to the buss bars, It is the original cap bank. If 7/16 hex bolts, it has been replaced. The code 9402 were the first ones made.If you find it is one of these in extremely good shape and has original caps. Send me a private message and I will tell you what to do about it. That cap bank should be failing.
