Whats the best way to run verticle up using fluxcore wire. I was told no whipping (do to the slag) but could use a slight weave, but stringers were the best. Whats a good gun angle and such? ThanksYa gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:a xmas tree pattern used to work good for the wire i used to run. Holding on the edges and pulling the point of the tree up as far as you dare to give the pool a chance to cool....without trapping slag.Dont hold at the top of the tree.G
Reply:Hold the toes till they fill and go fast accross the middle, just like vert up with 7018.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:What type of flux core? Is it gas shielded or self shielded? It really does matter. The gun angle should be straight in to a slight push.
Reply:I used a weave, just as I did with GMAW... 40 and 45 wire.. just a slower travel speed

Reply:It's covered by these answer's. Only thing I would add is run about 25volts and amps/wire speed 180-200 and it isn't much of a movement used either.I'd rather be hunting........USE ENOUGH HEAT.......Drifting around Aussie welding more pipe up, for something different.....wanting to get home. |
