ok, after seeing here a lot of examples and getting confused from too much option/choices i decided to start... I had an old metal frame on wheels which the legs of the table were built on. Attached Images

Reply:A welding table is a personal thing. If the table fits your current needs, makes welding projects easier and more accurate than before, then you have succeeded in what you set out to accomplish.I like the variety of clamping areas you have with the separation of your plates.Good job.
Reply:Very well thought out and nicely built!(Retired) Professional firefighter, amateur everything else I try to do...Oh yeah:  Go Big Red!   (You know: one of the 12 members of the Big 10 cuz we left the 10 members of the Big 12...)
Reply:Neat table. Just an observation though; won't the spatter and sparks fall into the drawer?IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8

Reply:Hey Nachche.Nice table. I would add sides to the drawer so things don't fall out when you close it.Also, please post your location. Those outlets look like Europe or Australia.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:Also, how tall is it? I am getting ready to build mine and I'm getting ideas. I like the spaced top pieces, more places to clamp plus you can use it for torch cutting as well.Miller Challenger 172Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC 225/150Miller Maxstar 150 STLVictor 100CVictor JourneymanOxweld OAHarris O/ASmith O/A little torchNo, that's not my car.

Reply:thanks again for the comments.the location is Israel, as guessed here - the outlet's standard here had changed recently so you can find both the "Ausi" style and the new standard which is 3 rounded same sized plugs (type H according to Wikipedia);http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Is...and-socket.jpgthe one on the left is the old standard.the height of the table is 90 Cm. (35")  which is very comfortable for me (I'm 183cm)BUT if you put the vise on the table - it puts the vise a bit too high (well, depends on the vise's size)A new add on in the pictures- 90 degrees angle using the space between the plates. Reply:Good job. I too like the rounded corners and especially extending the plate beyond the square tube which makes clamping small items easier. Nice vice
Reply:How thick is the top?  I need a new fab table and was looking at 3/8" but a lot of the tables at auctions or fab shop liquidations seem to be 1/4".

Reply:I'd be really pleased to hear, at a later date, that you've ground out and replaced a few of the welds.I just finished up on a thing today, and spotted a few that I'm not pleased with, and will redo them tomorrow.Right now it's , and they'll still be there in the morning"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:That's a very nice table. I'm looking to build one very soon. I love the spaces inbetween. What did you use to cut the plate? The cuts look very straight and clean.

Reply:That's excellent. I'm going to steal your design.
Reply:Funny, I just found this thread today. You table is similar in style to the one I just finished last week. designed it while waiting for my shop to be built. Mine is a tiny bit heavier then yours, but shares the idea of the clamping slots. I got my plates from my steel supplier for a song. 10 pieces at $20 each. They were miss cuts and a bit rusty but soooo cheap! They are 48" x 9 1/4" x 1" thick. Like I said, just a smidgen heavier  The frame and legs are 3 1/2" x 1/4" angle. I'll take some pics when I get a chance. I like your 90* bracket. Nice job!200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.Nice table but I would have ground off the galvanizing where it's welded first.
Reply:nice!  Now that it's done, the fun begins ........ adding more crap to it!   Hangers, hooks, receivers, etc.....  FUN!   see my thread on Tricking out your welding table.   I got some great ideas from a lot of people.http://www.youtube.com/user/c599209/videos
Reply:Nice job chief looks different
