A couple of cheater lens questions

I have banged around in a couple of lens threads but did not see the answer to my question.  Is a 3.00 cheater lens going to be about the same as my 3.00 cheater glasses?And a quick search shows that most fall in the 2" x 4.25" range with some at 2 x 4.  Is this a standard size?  I really hate wearing glasses under the hood.  They never seem to be in the right place.
Reply:Yes the 3.00 is the same as the 3.00 reading glasses. And that is the standard size.I use a 2.00 in my helmet as that is what my bifocals are so I can still wear my glasses and see without tilting my head to see the weld bead.
