I met a nice guy today who is closing up his fab shop.  I went to look at a Bridgeport he is selling and saw a big box of scrap aluminum sitting there.  I asked about it and he said he was going to sell it for scrap so I offered to save him the trip and buy it off him.  He told me to just take it and wouldn't except my money.  I suspect there is about 500 pounds of bar, round, plate and extruded rails in the box.  There are still good people out there.

Reply:Still waiting to hear on the mill.  I showed up before he had a chance to come up with a price so he's gonna get back to me with a price.  I just unloaded to aluminum....its probably closer to 800 pounds, I have a little bobcat 540 with forks on it and it was all I could do to lift it.  I was just in the right place at the right time....doesn't happen often for me.

So YES you can own too many tools.
Reply:I do plan on returning the favor but he's not as bad off as it sounds.  He's closing his business after 25 years to enjoy life a little bit.  His employees bought most of the equipment and are continuing under a new name, so he isn't really at that low of a point in his life.  He's a friend of a friend, that is how I found out about the mill before he worked out a price and that is also why  I know a lot of the back story.
