I have been following this site for a few years now so I thought I would finally post some pictures of my projects in the last few years. Some of the pictures include my ATV Cultivator I made when I was in the 7th Grade, a ATV 3 way hitch, a robot I helped build when I was a freshman, some art projects,a tire rack, welding cart and a welding table i got for $150 and fixed up. the welding table is 4x7 with a 3/8" top on it. Reply:The cultivator is nice. Did you bend the spring tines? Or buy them? If you made them yourself I'd like to know more about how you tempered them.I also like your tire rack. I think I'll be copying it You didn't mention the trailer hitch rack in front of the welding table. Do you have a close up photo?Last edited by forhire; 11-01-2010 at 12:37 PM.
Reply:The cultivator tines I bought from Tractor Supply they are the "Danish" style. I don't have a close up of the trailer hitch rack but I could get one this weekend or the next when I go home.Last edited by 877silverado; 11-01-2010 at 12:47 PM.
Reply:Great stuff. I've been considering getting a Hobart mig. How would you rate it overall?
Reply:Thanks. My Hobart is a Handler 210 model. I think they are a really good welder for the money. My dad and I purchased it for hobby and repair work and it has not failed us. We are kicking ourselves for not waiting until Northern Tool had them with the spool gun for only $100 more than what we paid for ours without the spool gun.
Reply:Here are some more of my projects. I have a better picture of my receiver hitch holder. I am adding my "bump buster" and my jack stand dollies. The bump buster I made out of scrap metal. The hitch is off an old hay rake. The jack stand dollies can also be put under a vehicle to roll it around the shop. Attached Images
Reply:That hitch storage is to cool. Mine lay in a pile all the time. great idea.
Reply:Neet idea for the hitches - should be able to find one when you need it. Normally i have to try and hunt one down.
Reply:Awesome idea on the hitch storage. I might have to steal that idea Thermal Arc 210Thermal Arc 95SLincoln Weld Pak 100
Reply:Need a tire rack just like that, hope you don't mind if I copy your design. Those ramps hanging on the wall below and left of the tire rack. Had a set like that myself. They worked good and were nice and light but I never felt comfortable working under the p/u with them. Finally got rid of them and made my own with detachable ramps. I feel safer but they sure are heavy."The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25
Reply:I feel safer under the plastic ramps actually! They might not BE safer, but they seem it with their vertical honey comb webbing, and they are pretty inexpensive and light enough to hand off one nail on the wall.miller syncrowave 250hobart handler 140home made 400 amp engine driven in progress...
Reply:The tire rack I found a drawing on the internet and I just modified the dimensions to fit my tires. I had those plastic ramps until they were dropped when they were cold and cracked, then I didn't feel safe using them. I went back to using the steel stamped ones. I also had the problem of misplacing the hitches around the shop.Last edited by 877silverado; 11-13-2010 at 12:00 AM.
Reply:Ok nobody seems to have asked but what is the creation with the 4 small wheels ( it's right after the atv hitch, the one with you in the pic) And nice shop too BTWMiller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. So YES you can own too many tools.
Reply:Looks like it is meant to hold a jackstand. Maybe with a couple or 4 of those under a chassis you could easily move it around.
Reply:I think Dumb as a Stump is refering to the four wheeled (dually) thing with the electric actuaters next to the cultivator. I was wondering myself.Millermatic 200Hobart Handler 120Victor O/A & Ramco BandsawLincoln 225 ACSnapOn AD HoodMiller XMT304/22AHypertherm Powermax 1650 G3Lincoln Idealarc DC600 w/Extreme 12 VSMiller Digital Elite "Joker"
Reply:The "dually" thing is the "3-point" hitch for the cultivator that goes into my ATV's receiver hitch. It has the same track width as the ATV, and it takes the weight off the rear end so it can actually turn. |
