Here is a look at saw before i put the paint on it...It's wired for 220v and will cut 6" channel like butter...Its only a 3hp motor but does the job...It also has self leveling legs for use on a job site. Reply:what is the motor speed and the blade speed ? is it within the blade rpm? I do like it even though it isn't real pretty. What is the centre pulley for ? is it a tensioner? do you need it?Miller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. Reply:I think it looks well built . As long as it cuts true and fast, looks don't matter. If that's a 3600 RPM motor the blade must be turning around 1800. Correct? Reply:The Tensioner is adjustable and if I'm cutting a lot of bigger stock I'll get some slap if I'm really laying on it.But most of the time it stays right there.I'm getting roughly 1600 rpm and I only use Norton blades...It may look a little rough but she cuts very true, and has never failed me.I have it set up so the fence will lock in a 45 degree position also, very handy.Victor O/A SetHF Band SawHomebuilt 16" Abrasive Cutoff SawRed 225 Buzz BoxCraftsman 5hp. 30gal Sears and Robuck LeathDelta 6" Vert. Reply:the only reason I asked is, that it looked like it steps up speed and it seems to be about 2 to 3 times increase so is the motor is 1725 than the the driven shaft is say 3450 to 5175. is that right ? Anyway I like it and may copy some day. thanks for sharing.Miller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. Reply:Looks good Samsberr, thanks for posting it.What'd you use for an arbor shaft and wheel flanges?Must be LH thread, I AssUme.I had a shop-built that the insurance company yanked the plug on.It's been sort of cannibalized for other projects but I'll try to post pics of the remains.Good Luck
Reply:The Flanges came of an old Kalamazoo and I had a 1" piece of cold roll LH threaded and keyed for the arbor...Victor O/A SetHF Band SawHomebuilt 16" Abrasive Cutoff SawRed 225 Buzz BoxCraftsman 5hp. 30gal Sears and Robuck LeathDelta 6" Vert.
